Apocrypha

Greek for 'hidden things'. Slang term derived from the Apocryphical Books of the Bible. In daily speech, "Apocrypha" and "apocryphal" means something that is not canonical, something that doesn't really count. Often used by comic book or tv-show geeks.

No, no -- Spock never visited Never-Never Land in current Star Trek continuity. That episode is totally apocryphal.

Apostolic

a religion that worships the lord thy God ( the father, son, and Holy Ghost) and tries to live the best for god, taking the bible and the books in it to see what they think what it says means, especially because that is what the bible says you should do. we try to live our lives completely dedicated to God, repenting for every sin we commit, and going up to the alter to pray, not paying any attention to what people may think you look like when you pray, because God is looking for that someone who doesn't care what people think of them when praying, because god likes to be #1 in your life, not something you try to fit into your schedule after something else

long ago, the catholic church named us penecostols, because we rebelled from the catholic church, because we thought that their practices were wrong, dressing their pope as if he were a god, everyone wearing jewelry and all, but many people called themselves penecostols later on and so then we were called apostolics

Major Lee "Apollo" Adama

One of the main characters in the wonderful television show Battlestar Galactica who is the CAG (commander of the air group) of said ship. The actor who plays him is so beautiful that viewing him on screen sometimes causes Bamberitis. While currently married to Lt. Dualla, AKA Dee, there is a huge fan following for a relationship between him and Captain Kara "Starbuck" Thrace. In fact, in the original series aired in the 70's, Starbuck was played by a man. Apparently the two pilots had a sexual vibe despite both being men, as seen in the copious amounts of slash fanfiction. This may have led to Starbuck's gender change.

Less then one year after man first walked on the moon Apollo 13 was simply a "routine" flight until a faulty thermostat caused an oxygen canister to explode, blowing an entire side of the spacecraft away, the ship eventally starts leaking oxygen and the crew (Jim Lovell, Jack Swigert, and Fred Haise) have to survive in the Lunar Module until they can safely make it back to earth. But they didn't get to play with moom rocks.

My apologetics class taught me all about how Moses's slaughter of the Amalekites was justified. I'm ready to teach Sunday School classes now.
