His album Trilogy, that was released in 2012 , consisted of his remixed and remastered versions of his 2011 mixtapes : House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence. Abel got his stage name ‘The Weeknd’ from his high school drop out status. He said him and a friend dropped out of high school at about 17 and left one weekend and never came back home. Abel had to remove the ‘e’ in his stage name since there was already a Canadian band with the name ‘The Weekend’.
