Soft cuddling – a precursor to full blown cuddling. Soft cuddling typically involves only light contact, but that contact is normally sustained for a lengthy period of time. Examples of soft cuddling include resting a head on another’s shoulder, making deliberate (yet avoidable) arm-to-arm contact while seated beside someone, resting a leg on or across another person’s leg, etc. Soft cuddling is one of the subtlest ways to express interest in another, and is typically only used by highly skilled daters.

"Oh, I don't know, we'll see!"

Typically used by young teens in a group of friends that are trying to cuddle together but are doing it to the extent that nobody else notices.
Charles and Avery were at the pool party with their friends, but little did the others know that they they were actually doing a subtle cuddle.
