To be out of reach or unavailable, as in away from the office or otherwise unreachable. This is a phrase used regionally in the US.
"Just now she is out of pocket. And I shall find her as soon as I can."
"Sorry I didn't reply to your e-mail--I was out of pocket."

Checked out. Not mentally/psychologically present or engaged with the present task or situation. Cares very little or not at all. Performing an activity/job in a perfunctory manner. Related to burnout.
After years of putting in the work and rarely, if ever, receiving recognition or reward he's become completely dialed out. He now ticks every box on the MBI.
