Fox Syndrome

Inability to commit to a new television show until after it's first season has aired.

I can't risk becoming involved with a new show just to have it cancelled after one season. I guess I'm suffering Fox Syndrome.

My kid's teacher seems to hate children! Fawlty Syndrome, who could explain it?

Whenever a popular character gets shafted in a film adaptation. Named for the gross misuse of Venom in Spider-Man 3.

The comic-based film (take your pic) delegated most of the fan favorite characters to minor roles, becoming the worst case of Venom Syndrome to date.
