Despite the prevalence of imported US style customer service standards, the British stropkeeper remains faithful to his principle that all customers are morons, and opening a shop all those years ago was the worst decision he'd ever made.

"I don't do refunds," said my local stropkeeper. "You can have an exchange or a credit note and if that's not good enough then take it up with the manufacturer. And make your mind up because I'm closing early today."
