There’s a classic mainstream stereotype of muslim MENA characters in the media where “the hijabi falls for a white guy and foregoes her evil oppressive muslim family.” This view of hijabi muslims is extremely toxic to the community and worships the idea of white saviorism. this incorrect view of muslim women, primarily hijabis, must be changed.
