hala ka

It's a Filipino expression used to frighten someone when someone does something bad, or when there's something terrifying and you want to frighten someone.

This is also used to make a joke by frightening someone.

1. Older guy telling a boy:

Hala ka, there's a ghost inside the room (with an imaginary smiling face above the head).

2. Girl: Hala ka, some people are saying that the world will end soon.

3. Girl1: I accidentally broke my Mom's glasses. :-(

Girl2: Hala ka, Mom's gonna be mad at you!
