This term is commonly misunderstood as "Be Right Back" where one individual in an online conversation has to leave for a certain amount of time during a good conversation.

This is actually wrong though, it has a very firm meaning of "Bringing Ryne Beer" and often times is heard daily.

Person #1: "So whats up?"
Person #2: "Hold on, BRB"
Person #1: "Isn't that his 4th beer today?"
Person #2: "Yes - hold on, you know he gets cranky if I don't bring it right away"

An expression used in IM (MSN, Facebook...etc) conversations. Though technically meaning "be right back", it is more commonly used as an excuse to leave a conversation with a person you don't want to talk to anymore.

Derek: Hi what's up?
Aliesha: Nothing much really...kinda bored...and I'll BRB...

Hours later:

Derek: I thought you said you would BRB...you lied!
Aliesha: No...i didn't lie
Derek: Then why did you comment on Facebook 30 mins ago??? You were still at the computer...you didn't want to talk to me...i see how it is
