A transphobe is someone who has a hatred or fear of transgender people, often caused by lack of education, generalised fear and important people in their lives being transphobic. Many transphobes believe that their behaviours are acceptable in terms of discrimination, due to repeating the behaviour they had obtained from their family and/or friends.
Some transphobes use unrealistic hypotheticals to make their morals seem justified, which may also aid in people becoming transphobic. Transphobes can be any age.
Some people may be transphobic due to fear, such as children having their genitalia removed, and men being perverted in female bathrooms.

Transnegative: description of a person who holds negative attitudes (disgust, fear, hatred, etc.) of transsexualand transgender individuals.
As a Ph.D. clinical psychologist who has worked with and conducted research with transsexuals, now more commonly known as transgenderists, I note that the Urban Dictionary's present denotation of "transphobic" is incorrect and misleading. While humorous, it is NOT a fear of transformers or riding public transportation. Not so.

Chris hates transgenderists, perhaps due to the fear that he or she is one. Chris isn't transphobic, but rather is strongly transnegative.

Discriminatory against individuals who identify as Transgender.
Transphobic laws continue to pass in many states and countries despite an increasingly positive public opinion of Transgender issues.
Suicide rates among Transgender individuals is markedly higher than cisgender individuals. This is quite likely due to poor treatment from Transphobic people in their lives.
