Italian Food for Non-Italian People. This definition applies to the food available at restaurants (usually chains) that advertise themselves as Italian, however, is really "italian food-lite"; e.g. Bertucci's, The Olive Garden, Maggiano's. Anyone who's actually from Italy or of Italian hertiage recognizes the difference between the fare of these restaurants and the "real" versions.
