Frutiger Aero Week

The name "Frutiger Aero" is derived from two key influences: the Frutiger typeface, created by Adrian Frutiger and commonly used in Frutiger Aero designs, and the Windows Aero interface, introduced in Windows Vista and Windows 7, which played a significant role in popularising the aesthetic's glossy, translucent appearance.

It was based off what the future was supposed to look like but unfortunately it was taken from us. Frutiger aero week is just to remember the future that could have happened. It starts on November 18 (frutiger aero day) and ends on November 23. Each day is to remember each of the MAIN sub-genres.

Day 1 - Frutiger Aero and Aqua
Day 2 -Frutiger Metro
Day 3 - Frutiger Aura

Day 4 - Frutiger Eco
Day 5 - Dark Aero

Frutigercore

A term used to describe the core aesthetic principles of Frutiger Aero itself, elevated to the status of a distinct -core movement. Frutigercore celebrates the glossy, translucent, nature‑integrated digital utopianism of roughly 2004–2013: skeuomorphic interfaces, aqua buttons, lush green fields reflected on curved glass, bubbles, water droplets, and the promise of a future where technology felt organic and friendly. It’s nostalgia for a future we were promised but never got—a world where the internet was still a place of connection, not extraction. Frutigercore is both aesthetic appreciation and melancholy for a lost optimism.

Example: "His playlist cover was a glossy, glass‑like orb floating over rolling green hills—Frutigercore, a digital tombstone for the internet we thought we were building."

Frutigerpunk

A punk aesthetic/speculative fiction genre based on the Frutiger Aero aesthetic of the late 2000s and early 2010s. May overlap with Solarpunk and Ecopunk aesthetics.

Blends together futuristic urbanism, sustainability, and eco-optimism with surreal architecture.

Possibly a variant of the cyberprep aesthetic.

Singapore is a Frutigerpunk country.
