Piano Duel

Basically when two classical pianists get together in a room/concert hall and take turns playing the piano. One may play for example a Chopin Etude and then the other competitor may play a Liszt etude in rebuttal. OR one may play a Mozart Sonata and the other may play a Beethoven Sonata in response.The winner of this "duel" is determined by the unanimous vote of the audience, which would loosely indicate which pianist has the better technical ability, and musicianship.

Hey, did you just see that Piano Duel? That young pianist was just flamed by his competitor's exquisite interpretation of Beethoven's Waldstein Sonata.

Delylah

Duellinator

When speaking of a teacher, specifically your favorite teacher or one who spends his time abraod, in forested areas. Calling a teacher the Duellinator gives him great respect and power, and should be used with only the smartest and best teachers. A great term, only use sparingly.

Student 1: I really like that Geography teacher.
Student 2: Ya girlfriend so do I.
Student 3: Well he is the Duellinator, so everyone will like him.

Delegation Duel

When 2 people of similar ranks and/or tenure are working together closely on the same projects and they each keep managing to delegate tasks back and forth more than once each.

Eric walks into Bill's office and states "Bill, I need you to work up a proposal for the Cincinnati project." Bill says, "OK, can you review this report and print it in color?" As Eric lays 2 folders on Bill's desk, he says, "Sure. And by the way, here is the information you need to finish the Oklahoma project." Bill says, "thank you." and as Eric is leaving Bill's office, Bill zips Eric an email requesting Eric to fill-in for him at this week's seminar. Thus, a delegation duel.
