It is a reaction used by Arabs to express shock when hearing something crazy.
It originates from snoring and is typed using 5 because it is the equivalent of the letter خ in the Arabic alphabet, which when repeated a couple of times might sound like you're snoring.

555, often stylized in Gothic characters, is a lesser-known Neo Nazi Dog Whistle. It references the 555th panzer regiment. The regiment didn't actually have any armored vehicles and was a code name to trick Jews and other "Undesirables" peoples in an area conquered by the nazis if it was leaked that a military regiment was lodging in the town. This made it less likely for the people planned to be rounded up to flee.
in 1944, the 555th Panzer Regiment rounded up and slaughtered 1057 jews in the soviet village of Dubrovka.

In Thai language, the word for the number 5 is pronounced "Ha", so 555 means hahaha, or LoL.
It's HUGELY popular here - adults, kids, teens, I mean EVERYONE. If you have a phone number or car license with 555 in it, you can sell your SIM or plate for huge money, it's that popular. Spread it around, put some Thai slang on the intermap!
