You buy a new build home and think you own it, but the the developer sells you a maintenance contract as part of the deal, usually a small anual fee of around £200. This then jumps up and bites you right on the arse and you piss all your hard earned cash down the drain which the developer is charging you to maintain. You cut the grass and you are charged for the privalage, or nobody cuts the grass either way you lose. If a streetlight goes out you pay if the neighbours drain backs up you pay. So basically your fucked and nobody gives a shit because you signed your rights away when you mortgaged the property. If you were leesehold youd have tribuneral but as freehold nobody gives a squirt and unless you foot the bill you cant get the builder/developer/ property maintenance company (usually yhe same bunch) into court. And it gets better because this cunt will charge whatever the fuck he wants weather he does a great job or sweet fuck all and if you don't pay they can actually reposess your property and evict you. And you cant sell without them being involved in the deal, ie fleeceing any potential buyer.
So, if you are thinking about buying a newbuild home with annual grounds maintenance fee, we suggest you firstly go shit in your hand and clap and see how that works out for you.
