Rentomination

Portmanteau of the words 'Rent' and 'Domination'.

Domination of a society by forcing people to rent things instead of buying and owning things.
This way, you're killing two birds with one stone by firstly, essentially controlling the little person's money, keeping them as rich or as poor as you like, and secondly, being able to take away the little person's things as they do not actually own anything.

It was the first sunrise of 2040, but the people, who, although they awoke, were still asleep to the idea of Rentomination.
