The phrase originated in 2013 after a short animated video started circulating around the internet. The video describes how a young 9 year old boy found comfort in the Shrek franchise, and due to his profound admiration of Shrek his father suspected that he was a homosexual. His father, who was what you would call a homophobic fuckwit, basically abused him for this, causing the young boy to once again find solace in the mighty Shrek. The unwavering faith showed by the boy causes Shrek to start a sexual relationship with him, where he would often enter his window at night, fuck his ass and proceed to fill him with onion scented ejaculate. This video sends a very strong message that Shrek will protect all of his children (people who possess a strong belief system correlating to the majestic green ogre) and will make sure they never come into harm’s way.
