This tradition started exactly 200 years ago on December 2, 1819 by a French man named Edgar Bisset. He started it just to have an excuse to smack his girlfriends butt, but he got caught. His girlfriend broke up with him. He died a month later from an unknown disease, but on his tombstone it said "make booty smacking bicentennial" which means he wanted it to happen every 200 years. December 2, 2019 will be exactly 200 years since Bisset started it in 1819. Use this holiday wisely, because it only happens every 200 years!
