Staten Island Tech

also known colloquially as "Tech", it is the only specialized high school in staten island so every smart kid on the island tries to go, but half of the school is from Brooklyn anyways. it's highly ranked as one of the best schools in the nation for no tangible reason. most ride the s79 to get there and those who dont are rich enough to get car service or have a car. it is barely trying to get more diverse but faculty is all white and play favorites so it's not working and there is always an insect infestation going on. you know everybody in your grade because Tech is tiny and overcrowded as fuck. you can get a good balance between education and social life there if you never sleep and kiss your all teachers' ass. everybody and every teacher thinks they're better than any other high school in the area (i.e. new dorp, fort hamilton). it also has a strange system of staircases where only one can access all floors.

I applied to Staten Island Tech because I didn't have another choice. It was this or Stuy or Tottenville but I chose tech because it's "more personal".

Bruh, I tried to take staircase I to the third floor but i forgot it goes to the roof so I had to run back down to the basement to take H instead. Who the fuck designed this building?

another state of mind

A documentary filmed by Adam Small in the early eighties about an american tour featuring punk bands Social Distortion, Youth Brigade and Minor Threat. It featured clips from the 31 concerts that were played, a myriad of interviews (including some from the bands themselves,local kids from the punk scenes of the cities they were playing at, and even a few by ex-Black Flag and Circle Jerks Frontman Keith Morris).

Another State of Mind is a great rock documentary featuring some great bands.

Leather State

As coined by Adam Carolla, the LEATHER STATE refers to the condition of being half erect or the state between flaccid and having a boner. The reference is derived from the use of the term in ceramics crafting, as clay is generally referred to as being in the "leather phase" when it begins to harden and is difficult to work with.
