V. In the card game Cribbage, to beat an opponent by 31 points; that is, to reach 121 points before one's opponent reaches 91 points, which is worth 2 match points if a tally is being kept. Many cribbage scoreboards have a line drawn between the 90th and 91st hole, marked with an S, and referred to as the "skunk line". Unlike the double-skunk and triple-skunk, which are common unofficial 'house rules', the skunk rule is officially documented.

To be double-skunked is to be thoroughly and, some would say shamefully, beaten. See also Skunk; Triple-Skunk.
