When you receive a chat notification on your phone, see the preview snippet, but are either too reticent or to read the full message. So the message is both simultaneously good and bad at the same time. This provides the reassurance required to continue to ignore the message.

a gc formed on 21st April 2020 with 8-10 strangers on twitter, who grew close enough to call themselves a family. they often jokingly say "dorm chat feels like a support group", which is pretty accurate. the members call themselves 'dormies'. the gc has a Twitter acc, too (@dormchatt)
