a pap smear test is a test for sexualy active women where the doctor takes an object and scrapes some cell off of your cervix(inside of vagina)to test for std's or other types of infections or cancer.

The doctor asked the girl if she was sexually active so that he could know whether or not she needed a pap smear test.
