in volleyball, a spike is what you see when 1 member of a team pounds the shit out of the ball into the opposing, team's side of the court. May or may not result in a point.

Get the spikemug. A particularly frustrating and violent (and usually loud) skype conversation. Usually with a grandparent or someone unused to modern technology. It doesn't start well and ends even worse.

Get the spikingmug. Only expelling fecal matter in public restrooms when someone else is using the hand dryer, flushing the toilet, or anything that produces equal noise levels.
But...Hand dryers and toilets flushing only last for so long, therefore you must "spike it" to avoid making noise.
