It is the desire to sing every song ever produced by the Japanese Pop industry and upload the tracks to youtube, regardless if you can actually sing them or not.
Those affected usually have really horrible singing voices, an inability to count beats and keep time, naturally making their covers of songs really painful to listen to.

Most of jpop purist are international fan that doesnt know what is popular in japan and what japanese like. They insist of jpop should stick to traditional way and retain distinct jpop music style refusing to evolve to other music style. Music cross border, nation and culture now. This thing cant be stop. Just like the flow of time.
