identity deficit disorder

Otherwise known as IDD, a relatively rare disorder characterized by a notable lack of original, which is to say, innovative, interesting or humorous ideas. Like Rabies, the first symptom of this "disease" is a developing fear in the victim that they may indeed be a sufferer. This leads the sufferer of IDD to develop various tactics and strategies for masking this deficit of metaphysical presence, for example, keeping one's mentor(s) in the closet and isolated from one's social circles so that one's frequent parroting of the mentor's wisdom and witticisms is not detected and can be passed off as one's own. Another common tactic of a sufferer of IDD is the practice of recycling of endearments.
The character Howard Crick played by Will Farrell in the popular film, Stranger than Fiction (2006) provides us with as good an example as any of a person suffering from what might be termed "identity deficit disorder".

What Derrida has effectively accused all thinkers of suffering from when he proved that metaphysical presence is mere illusion.

Tommy frequently recycled the ideas and suggestions of his friends and acquaintances. And in this way at least put up a passable appearance of having a personality to call his own. If Tommy ever did have an idea of his very own no one ever knew it since it'd invariably die on the vine before he could tell anyone.

identity shopping

A form of voyeurism frequently practiced by narcissistic, self-obsessed people with unconsciously low self-esteem while walking around or riding on public transport through a busy city.

It involves making snap judgments about the appearance of members of the same sex, e.g. clothes, hair style, build, accessories etc. The identity shopper then copies the appearance of people they like the look of, and so feel much better about themselves. Until they see someone better looking, then they copy them, and so on.

Over time, this cycle raises the standards of dress for a large part of the population which is why people in cities always look so much hotter.
Girl: "Wow, you've gotten hot since you moved to the city! Good work!"
Guy: "Thanks! I just try to copy all the hot guys I see walking around."
Girl: "Dude, you are so gay."
Guy: "Nah, it's just identity shopping."

Crypto-emotional Testiculary Identity

The overbearing feeling in human psychology that makes one believe that their testicles are unnaturally small.
Hayley: I just feel that my balls...aren't as big as some of the other boys'.
Psychologist: Listen here you focking mong. The only reason your "balls" are small is because of the way you see them. If you view your balls as exceptionally large, then they will be. Currently, you suffer from a rare condition in females called Crypto-emotional Testiculary Identity which makes you retarded. Sorry, but that's just how it is.

generationally consistent political identity

Aka. G.C.P.I. or just generational consistency, When the political beliefs of an individual match their parents, guardians, and or grandparent’s political beliefs. The more generations from the same family who have the same beliefs, the stronger the generational consistency is. If the trend goes on for too long it can become source of privilege for the younger generations may not even take the time to do research in order to formulate their own views on issues and vote responsibly.
Erin: So, who are you voting for tomorrow?

John: I’ll probably vote for whoever the democrat is. I almost always vote democrat; just like my father and my grandparents on my father’s side. I have a generationally consistent political identity.
Erin: You don’t pay attention to who is running in elections and what their stances are do you?
John: No. Not really.
