cousling

/KUHZ-ling/ (noun) – The child of your first cousin or the first cousin of your parent; commonly called a first cousin once removed.
• Created from combining cousin + the diminutive suffix “-ling” (like sibling), to smoothly fill a gap in English kinship terms.
• Gender-neutral and usable for family one generation above or below.
“You met Kayla? She’s my cousling—Jace and I are first cousins, so she’s one generation below me.”
