Busy

A shady excuse given by someone who just doesn't want to talk to you.

All of a sudden they don't have time for you because they are 'busy' ( But are still on social platforms commenting on everything and texting everyone else online). They never actually tell you what they are busy with, because they aren't really busy.

A persons lame way of getting out of texting you back, let's face it, no one Is ever that busy , they aren't really that busy, so just take the hint and don't bother them anymore.

These people will probably only talk to you when it suits them or if they are bored and have nothing better to do or if they want something from you.

For example, Leaves you on blue ticks and opened and doesn't reply. Their phone is never out of their hand but are too busy to txt you back then says they are busy, until they want something.

I'm busy I can't talk right now. ( But is still on all platforms commenting and posting).

Sorry I'm busy, I will txt you in a bit. ( Never does reply).

busy work

class or home work teachers tend to give that usually have no learning benefit or provide more than necessary exercises to learn the material. this work is usually distributed when the teacher is lazy or needs to do something and needs to preoccupy the class for the day. busy work is especially common in cases of substitute teachers.

"What do we do in class today?"

busy season 

A period of the year in public accounting designated by mandatory 55+ hour work weeks, weight gain, decreased sexual activity, increased alcohol consumption, late nights, tickmarks, excel, ineptitude, and uncomfortable moments in the audit room. Generally begins in mid-January and continues through March. For idiots who joined the tax practice, this season will extend through April and again repeat itself from July to October. Busy season can be used to justify lack of contact with family, friends, your spouse/significant other, and little to no knowledge of current events. No weddings, funerals, or births should be planned during this time.
