Visalia

The shittiest little town ever. A place where most everything closes at 9 pm causing extreme boredom to anyone between the ages of 14-25. This causes people to have lots and lots of sex which explains why Visalia has one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the nation. Cows and goats are commonly seen in extremely random places throughout the town and their smell is constantly potent. There are more lifted trucks here than any other place in the world. Most people are "bros" or "brohoes." For fun, people often chill in the McCheveron or BJ's parking lot, drink alcohol or snort coak in garages, or take slutty pictures and post them on Facebook.

Most people in Visalia are really, really dumb- that's really the only reason why they would choose/be forced to remain in the town.

Vicariation

When you vicariously take a vacation. You can imagine yourself being somewhere else or follow an actual friend or other persons vacation. The vicariation has to be fully fleshed out, not just an idea of one or a fragment of what you might do.

Your friend goes to Aruba and you follow them on facebook or pictures via phone or email. You experience a vicariation by keeping up with all the happenings.

vicarious trauma

Trauma that is delivered vicariously by the media (TV, film, books, newspapers, the Net,etc) and leaves the world in a constant state of shock, which leads to a tendency towards illness and a lot of over-eating. As we do not experience events dirctly, it is devilishly hard to expunge the horror.

We've all experienced the vicarious trauma of the Tsunami, of war, of tragedies depicted vividly by reporters.
