thesaurus rape

The use of "big" words in lieu of their "common" counterparts (often out of context) in a futile attempt to sound more intelligent. This technique is often used by liberal arts students when attempting to sound competent when talking about a subject that they have no clue about.

A type of music in which the lyrics are so obscure or unknown to most people that listening to them requires a dictionary or thesaurus. Opeth is a primary example. Thesauruscore is a rougher or more brutal form of Dictionary Rock

thesaurasize

To completely ruin an essay by referring to a thesaurus for every other word, thus inserting words that you don't really understand the definition of to make yourself appear smarter to the reader.

"Man, Julia's essay would have been amazing if she hadn't thesaurasized the damn thing. Now she just looks ignorant."
