When a college class is moving quickly and you are still recovering from looking at the syllabus and it looks like an immense amount of work.

Oh man I cannot even focus, I am still in syllabus shock.

awk shock

The stomach-turning shock that fills your body when you notice that someone who are awkward with (ie a previous hook up, or some one that you are embarrassed to be around) is in the vicinity. An awk shock may lead to a feeling of fear and nervousness, and the act of squealing, running, ducking, or hiding to avoid the awkwardness.

I had a full-blown awk shock when I turned around to see that the person who I hooked up with last week was standing right in front of me in the dining hall.
