Popo

A word commonly used today to refer to the police.

It originated in a few ways. The one I know is that Tupac used punk-police in a few of his songs, and people mistook it as Popo.

"Runnin' from all these punk police..." -Tupac

He says it fast and it sounded like popo.

"Somebody called the Popo?!"

A group of government hired, badly trained but well paid gangsters who project their anger towards the citizens.
They are so called HONG KONG POLICE FORCE
The main reason why they being called popo is that it sounds like a dog name and they behave like dogs with rabies.

(Hong Kong police coming out on the streets.)
Citizens: FUCK THE POPO
RESIDENTS: FUCK OFF YOU KILLERS AND RAPISTS
