It amuses how seriously 'metalheads' seem to still take nu metal. People who say 'listen to real metal' are just so sad its funny. Most metal is in fact shit and a few bands can pull it off. To me nu metal is just basic metal with hardly any solos and I dotn see what is wrong with that. I think the hate of nu metal must just be an American thing as American metalheads seem to have to always appear rock hard!!! In my opinion anybody who disregards a whole genre of music is as mcuh of a poser as those they make fun of for their inclination towards a certain genre. try not to be so insecure and like what you want not what you think you should like to a real metalhead.

Made it's first debut in early '90s with bands such as Deftones and Korn, then later re-established by newer bands such as System of a Down, Disturbed, Limp Bizkit, etc. Often referred to as "aggro-rock" by offended metal fans who have nothing more to do than insult newer, defining artists in a later and more evolved version of their precious genre.

Weirldly enough, this "music" shares alot of simularies to 70s/80sglam rock and hair metal:
- They are completely mainstream. It takes barely any challenge at all to hit the Billboard. They both use their lack of real talent to
- Annoying vocals. Glam had the ear-spliting torture of yelling and the mediocrity of singing sorrowfully from feminine men while nu metal "artists" do a horrible impression of rapping or use the same method of screaming like their 80s counterpart.
- Lyrics are as deep and complex as a horizontal line. Rather than explaining, listen and find out yourself on how fucking weak the lyrics are- no real meaning, no real work, no real depth; just used to get shitloads of cash and women.
- Completely hated by metal fans so it'll stay far and away from their scene. (Indie Artist for the win!!!)
- They are both fads, FADS. It's just happens that glam was like a nucleur radiation-sensitive bug while nu metal is big, fucking cockroach.
The only contrasts are that:
- Glam/Hair = sex and love; Nu = angst and pity
- Glam/Hair = transvestitial men; Nu = metal noobies and wannabe rappers

That having been said, nu metal is the logical progression of music, that all those products of the 80's and regressionists out their like to scapegoat because, let's face it, Twisted Sister and Iron Maiden went the way of the dodo and they're still pissed. Here's a newsflash: Alice is gone and Slipknot is here. I don't care if you like it, but deal with it. Go into a dark room, put on your Stryper and leave the people who want to move on with their musical lives alone.
Here's another thought for you, the Eagles fans hated it when Metallica came around. They said it was a perversion of their music. You're just a natural repeat of a needless anger.
