Hoplite

Hoplites were heavily armed Greek footman.

Hoplites had a spear that was about 8-15 feet long called a doru/dory
The xiphos was a short sword that was used as a secondary weapon when the doru/dory was broken or lost
Lastly, hoplites had a large concave shield called an aspis/hoplon. The inside was a thick wood and the outsides were made of bronze. Hoplites wore bronze breastplates along with greaves to protect the legs and a corinthian/chalcidian helmet. (P.S. they wore more types of armor but I don't want to list all of it)

Hoplites are heavy infantry.

hooligeezer

A hooliegeezer is a wise, crusty, sincere, generally cantankerous, sometimes badly-behaved man or woman over the age of 50 who loves to drink adult beverages, ride off road, and blow up things. A hooligeezer loves to camp in remote locations and will gather with like minded folks who have similar proclivities. Hooligeezers will never camp or associate with blue hairs.

A hooligan can be associated with youthful indiscretions while a hooligeezer has lived long enough to have matured into a minimally decorous, salty, seasoned hooligan.
