Ordet brukes ofte i sammenheng med "rættle" som er et ord som styrker verdien til gokar. Et eksempel på en gokar i Norge er Tigersager fra twitch, han er en rættle gokar. Må ikke forveksles med gokart, som er et kjøretøy som absolutt ikke benyttes av gokarer. En gokar kjører sjeldent noe annet enn volvo 240 med twinturbo dobbelaksling, ventilopptrekker og multifunksjonsratt.
