Fauxverdose

A “fauxverdose” occurs when someone sees fentanyl, panics, and faints. Symptoms often include rapid breathing, heart palpitations, and dilated pupils—none of which is consistent with opioid toxicity.

Fauxverdoses involving police are regularly misreported in the media as actual opiate overdoses. This leads the public to misunderstand the very real dangers posed by fentanyl and its analogs.

Fauxverdose is a portmanteau word derived from “faux,” meaning “not real or genuine” and “overdose.”

“Dude, NBC News reported that a Florida cop OD’d during a vehicle search just by getting near the stuff!”

“Naw, I watched the body cam footage with Dr. Smith—she says the cop just panicked and had a fauxverdose.”

Carbon Fauxber

Cheap plastic used to resemble carbon fiber in an attempt to push a product (ie Suzuki motorcycle) upmarket, but in reality alerting the attentive consumer to the fact that said product will in fact, upon first attempted use reveal a fairly high Velveeta content.

"Awsome ride dude, it must be really light, hence fast, with all that Carbon Fiber."

"If only. It's really Carbon Fauxber, made from the cheapest plastic know to humanity, impossible to keep clean or paint, plus it looks crappy and suggests inherently bad design"

fauxprah

A woman who thinks she is like Oprah. This woman is usually in her mid to late 40's - mid 50's, pretends to be concerned about others, spends money that she does not have to show pretend wealth. Generally, a wannabe oprah-like diva, but she is not.

My boss is really a nice lady, but that whole fauxprah act makes me ill.

A portmanteau of faux and sober to refer to someone who is so drunk they think they are perfectly sober.

Did you see Kelli last night? She was drunk of her ass at her house, but felt that she was fine to drive herself home! She was so fauxber!

The term used for a fake emo, someone who looks the part but isn't depressed all the time.

Josh: He's so emo, you know Charlie.
Gary: Nah man I know him better than you he's a fauxemo.

Fauxrensic

Refers to forensic-based t.v. shows that have (for the most part) no basis in truth. They are, in other words, false (hence the “faux”). Found to be highly irritating to actual forensic scientists.

As an actual forensic scientist, I find all of the glaring inaccuracies in those fauxrensic shows to be highly irritating.
