Extortion

It isn't extortion you stole from me and you are going to pay it back or someone isn't going to get to raise their kids. I'm not going to just let you steal this from me but you ARE GOING TO LET ME TAKE SOMEONE'S KID FROM THEM. That's the asymmetry. The only positive outcome for everyone is me getting that money. I'm not letting it go.
Hym "It isn't extortion. You made a mistake doing this. Don't let it cost someone the most thing in the world to them just so you can feel like you got the better of me. It isn't a tantrum. You are stealing them most significant advancement of modern times from me to get me to kill a child. That is all. Anyone stupid enough to let you convince them otherwise has bigger problems than a dead kid and if they aren't willing to stop you then someone else is going to have that exact problem."

cyber extortion

Cyber Extortion is a new breed of blackmailers that takes various forms, one of which is posting Mug Shots on Google images of individuals irregardless of their innocence and charging a fee to have it removed. These web sites do so under the guise of "public information" but they make no attempt to remove the mug shots of those individuals acquitted, without receiving payment. They are the most loathsome, deplorable parasites imaginable.
BustedMugShots posted an image of Jill from 20 years ago. It mysteriously resurfaced at the same time she was looking for employment. They identify as "internet reputation specialists" but they are nothing more than cyber extortionists.

Empathy Extortion

When people take advantage of your better nature to exploit you. Usually happens with liberal white women when mothering instincts are redirected towards immigrants and people that will one day harm them.
"Showing pictures of a tearful immigrant to promote replacing your identity and culture is a form of empathy extortion."
