Approval from spouse to venture from home, to make a major purchase, or to explore a new sexual avenue with said spouse. See also approval from corporate.

Male person #1: So last night, I drove home "the back way."
Male person #2: Dude, did she kill you?
Male person #1: Nah, man. It was cool; I had clearance from the tower on final approach.

level 5 security clearance

derived from military security levels for access to classified info. i use it on a person or persons who needs permission before they are allowed to speak based on past experiences of saying the stupidest shit you've ever heard; use it especially on those who have a tendency to speak before thinking; i put 5 because thats the highest level i've heard in the army but you can use any number depending on how stupid the remark and your friends or random people are.

after she asked "how do you know when volcanoes are active" anferny and i determined she required a level 5 security clearance before being allowed to ask questions again.

1: A classification of people who are considered less than substandard to date or hook up with due to looks, income, or personality.

2: The people who hang out at the bar after it has cleared out.

If I can't hook up with Jane tonight I will have to shop the clearance rack by the door.

If he dumps me now I will have to start shopping the clearance rack again.

clearancing

the act of shopping at retail stores with the sole purpose of finding items that have been greatly discounted by being put on clearance sale. Some buyers set clearly defined rules for clearancing, such as only buying items that are at least 50% - 75% off the original retail price. While not always the case, it's not uncommon for someone clearancing to buy items they don't really need, but will purchase because it is "such a great deal".

"You won't believe the great deal I found while clearancing today - a $30 purse for only $7.50!"

"I know I don't have a fish, but I just couldn't pass up the .25 cent fish food I found while clearancing today."

"My eBay store is filled with clothes I've picked while clearancing."
