AKA Cal. Known for liberal politics and perfect campus location. What the hell is in Palo Alto anyway? Stanford party scene my ass. The typical Stanford party: eat a bag of Milano cookies and stay up till the tonight show. You are hella weak. Also Berkeley was rated #1 public school in the nation...AGAIN. Stanford, what can I say, not good enough for the Ivy Leaguers not tight enough for the bay. That must suck.

people's republic of berkeley

(noun) nickname for the city of Berkeley, California, known not only for its well-known public University with a tradition of free speech, but for its reputation as a liberal/progressive community and a tradition (dating back to the Vietnam War) of the city government taking positions and passing resolutions on foreign policy issues (despite it having no influence or authority in this arena).

A: Why is the City Council debating the use of Predator drones in Pakistan? Aren't there potholes that need filling and budgets to balance?

A passing cloud or scent of potsmoke, which is commonly experienced while walking the streets of the city of Berkeley, California. Often used to poke fun at Berkeley's marijuana-friendly population and attitude.

I was walking down Telegraph avenue with a few friends and we encountered the Berkeley fog while passing by one of the head shops.

Berkeley goggles

When you first arrive in Berkeley, you don't think the people are very attractive, but as you notice how crappy the city is, you start to think that a 6 is 9, and then you find it even easier to hook up with people since outsiders look real good to them.

Roomate 1: Dude, these chicks are ugly..

Roomate 2: I know man, wish i was back in L.A.

(10 days later, as the roomates walk down Bancroft)

Roomate 1: Damn u see that chick, she's lookin better by the day!

Roomate 2: huh, suddenly all these chicks are lookin good, u see the girl at the museum, I wanna marry her.

Roomate 1: but u said she was a 4...

Roomate 2: well, now that I see all the ugly chicks here, she's an 8!
