Adjective, means something that is ridicululous/false, but more strongly.
Could be considered a synonym of "bullshit", but as a descriptive word rather than a noun.
Pronounced "spew-teh-may-nee-us", obviously that can change depending on the person.

Comes from the obsolete verb "spute" (to dispute) with the suffix "manious" (of the nature of).

Refers to where a restaurant tries to get you to order an entire evening meal rather than just a lower-cost salad and baked potato.

I love a whole-wheat footlong with crunchy veggies as my entire meal, so Subway shouldn't try to supsell me.
