The sport itself is mostly nonsense, but an american organization, the NFL, saw fit to to interpret it for use in the real world. It is believed that the acronym NFL was created by scrambling the letters of FNL. Unlike FNL, the NFL is unscripted. This has been received negatively by critics who came to love the characterizations and plot lines in FNL. Most people are patiently awaiting the day that the NFL is cancelled and FNL is renewed.
