When the reputation of a piece of media (such as a TV show or a video game) on the internet is soured thanks to the unsavory nature of some of its fans who have nothing to do with the media itself, usually amplified by its detractors who compile this unsavory content on sites such as YouTube, in which Fandom Rot can also be called Hatedom Rot. This can in turn prevent newcomers from wanting to check out the media for themselves, usually out of fear of being associated with those fans.
Fandom Rot can "heal" as a piece of media decreases in popularity and/or if its fans and detractors mature and either have a change of heart or move onto different things.
However, some pieces of media may be doomed to suffer from Fandom Rot forever as its fanbase becomes synonymous with it. The people who own the piece of media may also feel it's a good idea to acknowledge or insert a joke or reference about their unsavory fans within the media itself, but this usually just immortalizes the Fandom Rot as a part of the franchise.

P1: Hey, have you heard of Otto's Quest?
P2: Otto's Quest? That show sucks! The fandom is so cringe! Haven't you seen the cringe compilations?
P1: What does any of that have to do with the show itself?
P2: ...I never really thought of that. I still don't want to watch it, though.
P3: Hey guys, have you seen the newest episode where Otto meets one of his weird fans? They got the behavior down to a T!
P1: Why would they want to associate with that? The Fandom Rot has really gotten to the writers' heads.
P2: Does anyone else suddenly feel like watching Otto's Quest?

Get the Closet fandommug. A character in a fandom who has the most porn, horny fans or simps, (sometimes) already is a slut in their respective media, or is just hot. And most if not all of the time the whore of the fandom tends to be female.

Get the Whore of the Fandommug. A fandom composed of three book series, a bunch of spin-offs + and a new show that is constantly shouting at the top of there lungs basically begging you to jump into a black hole of content. It's a fun black hole at least...

Get the the percy jackson fandommug. The Unnamed or the Unnamed Fandom is the way fans of the duo Mile Phakphum and Apo Nattawin call themselves . In the Thai series KinnPorsche that shot to fame from April to July 2022 Mile plays Kinn and Apo plays Porsche.
Separately Mile's fans are the Greeny Roses and Apo's are Colleagues ( Apo's Colleagues), so an alternative name for the ship fandom is GreenyColleagues.

The Unnamed Fandom will either start their tweets with a line of green and yellow hearts, or with cherries and croissant emojis.

Get the the Unnamed Fandommug. Anyone who is a fan of a particular decade (whether it be the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s or 2000s). This is mostly for nostalgic reasons.
One of the most notable decade fandoms are the 90s kids. But also one of the most annoying considering how they delude themselves and think that the 90s were absolutely flawless.

Get the Decade Fandommug. The feeling when you become bored/used to Fandom content. When someone indulges themself in large amounts of Fandom content, they become tired of it. It has a similar feeling to being Partied Out.
Person 1: Man I just finished reading 2 slow burn fanfics. I'm kinda tired of it now
Person 2: You're probably Fandomed Out. Try doing something else for a bit to recharge.
