Godspeed You! Black Emporer (formerly Godspeed You Black Emporer!), is a Montreal-based post rock band. Their first full-length album, 'f# a# (infinity)', has 3 tracks totalling up to 1 hour. The tracklisting for 'f# a# (infinity)' goes as follows:

They have more than just one record, however. GY!BE is well-known, but not in the 'popular music' way. They are on an indefinite hiadus, I believe.

empty gesture

Making a nice (fake) gesture for someone when you don't really mean it, hoping that the person who you are making that gesture to won't actually as you for a favor, or follow up on that offer you made. You just say it to seem like a nice person. This phrase is used in Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Larry David: Well, If there is anything I can do, let me know.
Marty Funkhouser: You know what, there is something you can do.
Larry David: What, are you kidding?
Marty Funkhouser: What, you didn't mean it?
Larry David: Of course not!
Marty Funkhouser: Well why did you say it then?

Strange things early days were just that … beyond strange .. I swear that day I upset you big time (you were playing devils advocate and knew it, in my time of raw grief btw) I heard what you said to me in head. I will show you who’s … and the word I used …

I replied .. same way but lost that ability after all the repeated fuckery and saying I had enough … strangely it worked .. my end anyway, haven’t felt connection like that since .. or seem to know how to retrieve it … tbh I haven’t really tried …

Anyways .. if what you wrote is you and all true and correct … yep we would empower each other (I know part of my spirituality is actually linked to you … maybe as you were the bloody catalyst ..

For the record I didn’t leave my wife because of it for you …. I left as the only thing to do once I knew how wrong it all was .. best for both of us ….

You and me … never thought this would ever come to be and still don’t and explained that thought pattern long ago … and would never ask you to make that choice .. only choose one or the other … ie no more definitions if your situation hasn’t changed or in that process

Also we don’t know each other at all … so why would you take a risk on a whim without …
