Zebras

slang term for Referees. Could be used in any sport. The name comes from their shirts that usually wear black n white like the animal zebras. Players use this so that the refs won't get on their ass when they complain about them. Anthony Edwards is one of the notable athletes to refer to refs as zebras

Ref is completely clueless to what you mean so they wont get on your ass n give u a tech or sum

the phrase was coined on the television show called "The Jeffersons" the character George Jefferson routinely called the daughter of his neighbors (Jenny), a zebra
