A great idea, horrible execution. People normalizing unhealthy weight, especially being plus sized. Body positivity is meant to promote healthy bodies, normalizing insecurities that do not affect ones health such as hip dips, promote a healthy diet/weight loss, recognizing a petite person doesn't mean they have anorexia, recognizing that a larger person or someone with belly rolls is normal, and overall just not caring so much about looks and being extremely skinny or following the beauty standard for bodies (ex. western; fat ass big boobs and small waist, china; imposibilly petite). However body positivity is instead being used as an excuse to normalize being an unhealthy weight, especially large. Yes there are larger people existing while still maintaining a healthy diet and healthy exercise however they should not be abnormally large. It is sad to see our youth being obese but it is also a reflection of us and we should really realize what we are doing with ourselves first instead of blaming it on everyone else.
Wow that person is so fat
No they aren't, we need to promote body positivity
No they are an unhealthy weight, clearly, don't you see their width is larger than their height?

Guy: Did you see Melissa this morning? She wouldn't shutup about that new project she's working on.
Guy2: Yeah, she's suffering from Post Meeting Positivity.

Get the Post Meeting Positivity mug.The central flaw in the idea that only verifiable, empirical statements are meaningful. The hard problem is that the core principle of positivism—"only statements verified by empirical observation are meaningful"—is itself not verifiable by empirical observation. It's a metaphysical claim about meaning, making it self-refuting. It tries to use philosophy to declare philosophy useless, like using a ladder to climb up and then kicking it away.
Example: "The old-school positivist declared ethics and art 'nonsense' because they couldn't be tested in a lab. The hard problem of positivism was that his own declaration was, by his own standard, nonsense. He was left silently judging everyone with a philosophy he claimed didn't exist."

Get the Hard Problem of Positivism mug.The ripple effect of positivity is not a new concept, the specific phrasing is a new phrase. The idea of a "ripple effect" has been widely discussed in various fields such as psychology, sociology, and even physics (where it refers to the spreading out of waves from a central point).
In the context of positivity, the ripple effect refers to how small acts of kindness, optimism, or gratitude can spread and inspire others. It's closely tied to the idea of "paying it forward" or the butterfly effect, which suggests that even small actions can have far-reaching consequences.
The phrase "ripple effect of positivity" draws upon common ideas in the domains of emotional and social contagion, where positive emotions or behaviors can spread similarly to how a ripple spreads in water
