It is typically perpetrated in a flower bed, behind a tree, tall grass, literal bushes, or any other location that might provide a somewhat concealed location to discreetly deposit those pieces of yourself that won't be leaving with the rest of you while simultaneously alleviating the need to clean up afterward.
Origin of "scream at the bushes":
IDK when TF this phrase was 1st used but I'll bet it was coined in West Virginia. When we do somethin' trashy, we typically do our best to, at least, not add work to the puke.
