Get the final fantasy mug.While it was certainly an influential game, the transition from 2D to 3D did nothing in terms of gameplay for the Final Fantasy series in VII. Final Fantasy VII literally rehashed the gameplay from Final Fantasy VI and added the extremely novel and worthless materia system to try and make the gameplay look less cut and pasted, yet anyone that had played Final Fantasy VI beforehand could see what a shameless copy VII was. Many other game series that had moved from 2D to 3D had retained the classic 2D gameplay feel while actually getting significant gameplay changes from moving into 3D which made them feel fresh (e.g Zelda and Ocarina of Time). Since Final Fantasy VII changed nothing gameplay-wise when moving into 3D, the gameplay ultimately felt stale to those who had played previous Final Fantasies.
The presentational values VII introduced were excellent but the complete lack of any real gameplay evolution was largely disappointing for fans of the series who had played previous installments. Unfortunately VII is overrated for the fact many people had never played a JRPG before in their life (as they were mostly popular in Japan until that point). A disappointing game all in all.

Get the Final Fantasy Shrine mug.Mostly known as an RPG game for the playstation console. Though it does have a few games on other systems.(Such as Game Cube, and Game boy.)
It has breath taking graphics and beautiful character designs, but can lack a good storyline.(I think they're relying to much on eye candy lately...)
There are also two movies and two series of Final Fantasy.
The movies are FF: The Spirits Within and FF7: Advent Children.
The series are Final Fantasy Unlmited and Final Fantasy Crystal Legend.(Or so I believe that's it. Sorry, I'm not quite sure. ^^;;)

Get the final fantasy 8 mug.The most overated game series ever. So what if it has good graphics, retarded looking characters, and a Japanesey look. It seems that today, Video Games are automatically cool if they have sharp graphics, and it looks Japanese or Chinese. And Video Games that have all sorts of fun stuff but don't have the best graphics or if they dont look Japanesey are often turned down even by serious gamers. It seems that one of the follys of Modern gaming is that gamers are being turned into wimps. I remmember back in "the days" when all those old and classical video games wouldn't have all those 1 hour long bullshit Cut scenes. Don't get me wrong, I like videogame cutscenes but not if they are hella long.
I sure hope they dont turn Mario from a Cool and Funny looking Italian/New Yorker plumber into some overused, sleek, deadly and Asian-looking yet gay looking Samurai or Warrior who would strip off his clothes after every battle. That would suck now would It.
