Fairly self-explainatory, a tight security method in which information is only given to those who can present a good case for knowing about a project.

The example is classified, and given out on a need-to-know basis only. Obviously, it isn't funny.

Mr. know it all

Someone who believes they've got the answer to every question even if the question hasn't been asked or if they really don't have the answer (... but of course they believe they do). This is not a shy individual, but rather someone whose ego is over flowing primarily through their mouth, but seems to have come from the other end of their digestive system.

Standing in the door of his single wide, Mr. know it all gave me his latest real estate tips.

Mr. know it all told the CIA there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Unfortunately, they were listening.

Term used mostly in the DC area to indicate agreement with something somebody said.

Matt: Trenita, my French class was cancelled this afternoon so I have the afternoon free.

Trenita: I know that's right.

Oh, I know how it works

The statement used after being told how something works or functions.

Even if you may or may not know how this something works or functions, use the statement anyways to cause laughter.

"We're going to have a surprise party; where every one will hide and when the birthday girl arrives we will jump out and yell surprise!"

Nearly interrupt the previous statement with:

"---Oh, I know how it works."
