Tumblr Effect 

The Tumblr Effect occurs when one makes a big deal out of something rather common/formal; A showcase of utter pretentiousness.

Phrases like "I can't even", "This", "I'm so done", "My life is complete" and "That's enough internet for today" indicate that the Tumblr Effect is in effect.

The phenomenon get's it's name from the popular network Tumblr, where people making ginormous deals over little things are in abundance.

Ever since the Tumblr Effect became a thing, it became much easier for marketers to simply make a big deal over their own product, rather than actually presenting the qualities of the product. Henceforth, they would get the (Tumblr Effect) ball rolling.

It is all the bullshit developed by special snowflakes in the bowels of tumblr. Most tumblr bullshit has no logic behind it and it exists only on tumblr, this bullshit will sometimes leak out into the normal internet where everyone will then make fun of it for how stupid it is. Most tumblr bullshit includes things like made up sexualities or genders, it can also include otherkin, bronies , or furries.

John: Jake said he was demi-sexual , what does that mean?
Eric: I don't really know other than it is some kind of tumblr bullshit.

tumblr famous 

A group of tumblr users who have 1,000+ followers and stop following back.

However, "tumblr famous" is used lightly because someone with 1,000 followers or more may not be significant at all.

To truly be tumblr famous you should have around a 5 digit follower number.

Most people achieve this goal by posting tons of selfies, being extremely rude or sarcastic, or constantly promoting themselves.

They make irrelevant posts that get thousands of notes.

Many are stuck up and complain about not having enough followers, and pretend to not be tumblr famous.

There are a few tumblr famous people who are nice, reply to messages, and might follow back (ex. alerting, ti-ed, p0sies, yikes, etc..)

Tumblr Fakemous 

Tumblr Fakemous people are those who promise to make other Tumblr users "famous" through some sort of deceptive promotion. This promotion serves only to make THEM famous, not the other users. The fame they achieve has nothing to do with their blog quality, who they are, their appearance, or anything else. They achieve massive Follower numbers only by promising to make other Tumblr members famous, getting them to Reblog fake Promos and using viral schemes to rack up massive followers.
It is EASY to tell who is Tumblr Fakemous. Anyone who posts a Promo that says "REBLOG" or "Click Yes" or "No Likes - reblogs only". If it says these things, it is a FAKE SCAM run by a Tumblr Fakemous person.

Here are two Tumblr Fakemous examples I have seen recently (there are many every day):

naturallybrunete: "Wanna Be Famous? Reblog This, click the image and click YES!"

(does nothing whatsoever except give the fakemous person another Follower... and you reblogged it so they can get a thousand MORE followers... you damn sucker hahaha)

int0xication: "Want Me (tumblr famous person) To Follow You and make you famous? Click Here and Click Yes!"

(okay so he just got another Follower, oh and just because you WANT him to Follow you and make you famous, doesn't mean he'll do it - joke's on you sucker! hahaha)
