India Bias

"India Bias" is the term used to define the extreme bias that will occur online when comments are made about the country India.

This is best demonstrated where comments can be 'rated' such as youtube. Comments that show India in a negative light will generally receive extremely low rating, where as positive comments will show extremely high ratings.

There are a number of causes for this bias:
- The gross overpopulation of Indians
- Indians' tendency to be egotistical or 'air-headed' and their inflated sense of self worth
- The high probability that an Indian will share the comment with a friend, as opposed to others who will just ignore it

Indians are the wealthiest among all ethnic groups in America, even faring better than Caucasians.

There are 3.22 million Indians in the US (1.5% of the population)

12% of scientists in the US are Indians
38% of doctors(physicians, dentists, PhDs, etc) in America are Indian.
36% of NASA scientists are Indians.
34% of Microsoft employees are Indians.
28% of IBM employees are Indians.
17% of INTEL scientists are Indians.
13% of XEROX employees are Indians.

As of 2002 India is the largest source of international students accounting for more than 11 percent or 67,000 of the over half-million studying in various universities in the U.S. In this case, Indian students for the first time outnumbered the hitherto largest source of international students, which was China. For the period of 2002-03, Indian student remain number 1 in U.S. university enrollments, totaling 74,603, up from the previous year. This accounts for a good 13% of the 586,323 international students.

Indians make up 10% of all medical students in America.

Munster, Indiana

Munster, Indiana is a nice suburban town in NW Indiana. There are many negative thoughts about the town, and many from nearby towns like Highland and Hammond talk bad about Munster and describe it as a town full of rich snobs when Munster is a mostly solid middle class town. South of the railroad tracks is where the wealthier upper middle class residents live, but even then, most of them aren't snobs but hardworking. People talk bad about Munster High, and it is true that residents can be a bit arrogant, but that isn't without reason. Munster High is a high quality school that has high standards as well as little fights and drug users. People also think that most teenagers in Munster drive Porsches, Mercedes Benz, and better, but most drive modest ordinary cars that are around 5-10 years old. Also, Munster has very little crime. The worst thing to worry about would be something minor, like theft or drug use. Very rarely are there any serious crimes, like people going missing or murders and only two policemen have ever died on the job, both from accidents. Munster is an excellent town with high standards, low crime, and a great school system.

Munster, Indiana is a great town with great people.

Cleveland Indians

A freakin' awesome baseball team. The tribe has had some of baseball's best players since 1995. Former Indians players include Manny Ramiez, Roberto Alomar, Jim Thome, Bartolo Colon, Kenny Lofton, Albert Belle and Omar Vizquel. Oh yeah, and Orel Hershiser, Eddie Murray, David Justice, Sandy Alomar Jr., Charles Nagy, Juan Gonzalez, and Dennis Martinez. Many of these players are future hall of famers. They made it to the World Series in 1995 and 1997, and won there division 6 out of 7 years from 1995 to 2001. Currently, they are a team on the rise, with young stars like C.C. Sabathia, Travis Hafner, Cliff Lee, Jhonny Peralta, Victor Martinez, and Grady Sizemore. They will definitely win a World Series in the near future.

Who'll win the division this year, Bob?
The Cleveland Indians of course!
