Shipping Wars

Verbal arguments between people who have different opinions about romantic relationships between characters of a show, book, etc.

A noticeable one would be the war between a

Robin/Raven shipper and a Robin/Starfire Shipper.

Don't say anything negative about "Stranded" online. You'll start a shipping war.

squimming

A drinking game where a participant uses their buttocks to grab a quarter and walk with it as far as possible.

Once the quarter(s) have been secured by the buttocks then no other part of the body may be used to carry the quarter.

If another body part is used other than the buttocks then the distance from the beginning is marked where the participant used another body part for assistance.

Additionally no props may be used to hold the quarter in place.

Only buttocks and the quarter -- nothing else.

Others participants use the same method to see how far they can carry the quarter using their buttocks in relation to the initial participant.

The participant who carries it the furthest wins the game. The losers must then imbibe a drink at the discretion of the winner.

For increased difficulty the participants can be asked to carry more than one quarter.

Additionally the method of walking can be varied and is up to the participant.

Once at a camping party a couple of people decided that they were going to participate in a friendly game of squimming.

Derivation: From the friendly "Bear" character in the 80's hit British kid's TV show "Rainbow".

The door bell rang, so I had to snip Bungle's finger and wipe as I sprinted to answer it.

Safe Shipping Zone

A safe shipping zone is a space (typically a blog or website) where it is safe to "ship" any fictional pairings. The term is intended for the HP fandom and their pairings but can extend to any and all fandoms. Safe shipping zone means that you will not be judged for whatever characters you decide to "ship" (or want to be together) regardless of who they are and their sex/age/gender. It promotes a non-bullying atmosphere and encourages others to be respectful of certain pairings.

This is a safe shipping zone, you can ship whatever fictional or real life pairings you want without any judgement!

slipping in the turning lane

To get car jacked in the far right lane at an intersection because you stopped instead of rolling through and making the right turn. This term was made infamous in Texas. Mainly in the Houston, Dallas, and Port Arthur areas. Car jackers set up and hide at intersections waiting for a vehicle of there liking to roll through. If it stops and is in the turning lane, car jackers ambush the vehicle, get in and make the right for the previous driver never to be seen again. Car jackers who do this, have no shortage of victims in Texas. Many people in Texas have slabs and/or customized, flashy vehicles and one of the ways they show them off is by moving slow or stopping in the turning lane near intersections.

When your in Texas, don't EVER get caught slipping in the turning lane.

Sipping Whiskey

Sipping Whiskey is a term used to describe a whiskey that is quite smooth and easy to drink with no harsh 'bite' on the palate or throat when you swallow. It is meant to be sipped and savoured.

Most single malt scotch whiskeys and some bourbons are good "Sipping whiskey / whisky".
